Organic Chemistry
In the basic practical course Organic Chemistry (OC II) for students of the degree programme Applied Chemistry, principles of handling chemicals and the use of glass laboratory equipment are taught. Instruction in independently working out synthesis instructions, setting up synthesis apparatus and carrying out an organic chemical analysis as well as keeping a laboratory journal are trained.
The advanced practical course (OCIII) for students of the degree programme Applied Chemistry builds on the basic practical course and teaches skills to carry out more complicated syntheses than in the basic practical course. Thus, the theoretical basics of the lecture are explained and deepened with practical examples. In addition to the syntheses, an analysis of a mixture of substances is carried out.
The practical training in organic chemistry for students of the degree programme in biotechnology teaches the principles of handling chemicals, using glass laboratory equipment, independently working out synthesis instructions, setting up synthesis apparatus and keeping a laboratory journal. In addition to syntheses, valuable substances are extracted from natural substances.
