Registration soft skill subjects
Introduction
Like the registration for compulsory internships, the registration for soft skills subjects in all Bachelor's degree programmes of the faculty is also carried out via a central registration procedure in Campus Office.
The registration period for soft skills subjects runs parallel to the registration period for compulsory internships in the first and second semesters:
Winter semester
- Attention!!! Due to the public holiday on Tuesday, registration for this winter semester starts on Monday, 02.10.2023, at 12 noon!!!
- In the winter semester, registration for soft skills subjects starts in the first week of classes on Tuesday at 12 noon
Summer term
- In the summer semester, registration for soft skills subjects starts two weeks before the start of the course on Monday at 12 noon
The registration period for soft-skill subjects ends on Wednesday at 11:59 pm in the first week of each course.
The soft skills events do not start until the second week of the event. Please note that you can only register for one soft skills course per semester in accordance with the study schedule. Please note: in contrast to the internship registration for compulsory subjects, there is no automatic allocation for soft skills subjects. If your preferred subject or date is already fully booked, you will not be guaranteed a place on another date or in another soft skills subject.
The enrolment procedure is described on this page and is mandatory for all participants in soft skills subjects.
If you have any questions about the procedure, please contact
Helga Claßen
If you have any questions about the content of the soft skills subjects, please contact the respective lecturers.

What you need to do
Applies to all Bachelor's students in the faculty who wish to register for one of the soft skills subjects in the study schedule.
- Log in to CampusOffice and navigate to the soft skills elective catalogue.
- Select a course and, if applicable, a date for this course for which you would like to register. Visit the registration procedure there.
- On the following page, you will be offered all soft skills courses (subjects and dates). Select exactly one soft skills course or exactly one date and make sure that the course or date you have selected does not overlap with compulsory courses (e.g. practical trainings).
Attention: CampusOffice cannot perform an automatic collision check for soft skills subjects.
There are two possible outcomes for you
- You will receive a place in the desired course directly. In this case, your enrolment is complete. The status in CampusOffice is "You are registered".
- You receive a place on the waiting list. The status is then "You are registered (participation request)".
ATTENTION:
In this 2nd case, it is recommended that you register for a different soft skills subject or for a different date for your desired subject. Contrary to the internship registration in the compulsory subjects, there is no automatic allocation in the soft skills subjects . If you are unable to move up in your desired subject or on your desired date, you are not guaranteed a place in another soft skills subject or on another date. You will then have to wait until the next semester.
However, if you register for a different soft skills subject or date, your place on the waiting list for the original desired subject / desired date will expire.
Special features
- Learning and self-management: Registration for a mentoring group (1 SWS). In addition, the lecture (also 1 SWS) must be attended.
- Academic work: 1 (large) group, usually unlimited places available. Attendance is particularly helpful from the third semester onwards with regard to the Bachelor's thesis.
- Communication techniques is not recognised for MCD students (as the content overlaps with compulsory subjects).
- Technical English and Learning and Self-Management are not recognised for ETOS students (as the content overlaps with subjects in the orientation semester)
