Tribology Lab

The Tribology Lab is used for practical trainings related to the lectures Machine Design, Machine Elements, Higher Calculation Methods, and Triboloy.

Additionally, it is used for student project works and degree theses which refer to such issues as friction, lubrication and wear.

Equipment

  • four-ball tester VKA for testing lubricants under extreme loads and high speeds according to international international regulations
  • falling sphere viscometer KF30 according to DIN 53015
  • R/S cone/plate rheometer
  • tribology teaching system, experimental modules:
    • two-washers test rig
    • washer-on-bolt test rig
  • experimental module: disk friction, bolt on disk and elastic-hydraulic-dynamic behavior, determination of the efficiency of gears
  • surface measuring device (tactile)
  • white light interferometer
  • vibratory frictional wear test rig
  • precision scale
  • FE 8 test bench (rolling bearing test rig)
