Anniversary meeting 2016

50 years after their engineering studies, ten graduates of the former "Staatliche Ingenieurschule" (now FH Aachen) met on 2 June 2016 in their old school building on Goethestrasse, which is now home to the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. "We visited the faculties 25 years ago; back then, we even still had our old school desks here," reported one alumnus. Even though a lot has changed since then, you can still study mechanical engineering here - just like back then.

During a cosy coffee break, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Raatschen described the changes that the faculties and the study conditions have undergone over time. Afterwards, the seniors and their wives had the opportunity to experience the new technology of 3D printing in action at the GoetheLab. Daniel Radermacher explained how 3D printing works. At the request of the alumni, the CAD/CAM laboratory was also visited, with Dipl.-Ing. Ralf Sander giving a guided tour.

At the end of the visit, there was thanks and applause for the good organisation and implementation of the alumni meeting. Dipl.-Übers. Grit Jacobi, head of the faculties' alumni association, bid farewell to the visitors with a greeting of Aachen Printen.
