DAAD English Language Certificate
A certificate of English skills, which is required to apply for DAAD scholarships (for a semester abroad) and other purposes, can be attained at the Language Centre. A distinction is made between a) students who have already taken an English course organised by the FH Aachen Language Centre and would like to have their English skills certified, and b) students who would like to provide evidence of their English skills by means of a language test.
a) Certification of previous course and examination achievements
For FH Aachen students who have previously attended an English course in their faculty that was organised by the Language Centre, and who have demonstrated their abilities during the course and through the final exam, the language certificate is free of charge. The course and/or the final exam may have taken place up to a maximum of two years previously. If you would like us to issue a certificate, please kindly contact us by email and let us know which FH Aachen faculty you belong to and which course you attended during which semester.
b) Proof of English Skills through a language test
If you have not yet taken part in an English course which included a final exam organised by the Language Centre, you can obtain a language certificate by taking a test at the cost of EUR 20 (external students: EUR 30) plus a EUR 20 registration fee. Through this test, the language competencies of reading comprehension, writing and oral communication will be assessed.

The examination fee for FH students who have not yet taken part in an English course with a final examination organised by the Language Centre is EUR 20.00. The examination fee for external students is EUR 30.00. In addition, there is a registration fee of EUR 20.00. To register, please fill out the online form.
