Brewery Technology
The Brewery Technology AG deals with the oldest process in bioprocess engineering - brewing beer. Students can design their own recipes and produce them in the faculty's 100 L brewing plant. There is a lecture course as General Competence, in which the biotechnological background of brewing is taught. In the course of the course, students work in teams to develop, calculate and analyse their own beer. In the Master's area, an advanced course on food biotechnology and the student's own project at the brewing plant is offered. In addition, staff and students can deal with the topic of brewing in the AG and, among other things, take part in brewing competitions or produce beers for FH events. In consultation with Prof. Tippkötter, team seminars including brewing access are also offered.
