Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
Welcome to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology
Information technology (IT) and electrical engineering are inextricably linked in the modern, technology-driven economy. What has long been true for applications in the economy is also becoming more and more apparent in everyday life. Keyword Internet of Things. The production and service processes summarised under this buzzword are always an interplay of IT systems, communication technology and electrical engineering-based automation systems.
The interaction of the different areas must be considered holistically as early as the product development stage. Technically, more and more is possible. However, progress is being held back by the lack of well-trained, interdisciplinary specialists. After all, even a smoothly automated process must first be thought through, designed and tested in interaction by specialised engineers and IT experts.
We have been training precisely these specialists since 1971. The technologies are changing, but the quality of our degree programmes is not: oriented towards current overarching issues in the (digital) economy, enriched with the practical experience of our teaching staff and always focused on application.
