Mechanical Workshop
FH Aachen offers a first-class education in modern and forward-looking professions. Close cooperation with regional and international companies as well as renowned research institutions such as the Jülich Research Centre (FZJ) is reflected in the quality of the courses on offer.
The mechanical workshop at the Jülich campus produces complex workpieces and devices for all teaching areas in individual production for the experimental set-ups and examination papers.
The workshop works together with various companies in the field of prototype construction.
The workshop team consists of
- 1 workshop foreman
- 3 skilled workers
- 10 trainees as industrial mechanics (3 trainees per apprenticeship year)
The workshop is equipped with drilling machines, conventional lathes and milling machines, CNC lathes and milling machines as well as sheet metal working machines. Equipment for all common welding processes is also available.
Every year, 3 training positions are filled in the field of industrial mechanics/fine equipment construction. The apprenticeship lasts 3.5 years. Various practical trainings are also offered.
