YouthIndeLab (JIL)
The digital zdi student lab JugendIndeLab (JIL) is a project funded by the EU (EFRE-zdi), which was launched in cooperation between FH Aachen and ANTalive, 2019 under the direction of Prof. Dr. Borchert.
You can now find all the latest information about JIL on our new zdi digital student lab website. There you will find a description of how those interested can independently work on and develop innovations related to structural change in the Indeland in the future. Below you will find information about the first three years of the student lab, which formed the basis for our self-learning packages and lecture content.
Implementation of the student laboratory in the first two years
As part of the project, pupils developed feasible future scenarios for the Indeland. They were trained to become "Indenauts" and thus experts in structural change. In this context, they dealt with ideas and solutions to questions from one of the focal areas of digitalisation, innovation, mobility, energy and construction.
The YouthIndeLab was carried out throughout the school year. Within this framework, the participating schools chose one, or at most two, of the focal areas of construction, mobility or energy of the future and developed their ideas for the Indeland. The topics of digitalisation and innovation were an integral part of this and were carried out in the form of workshops with the schools. The pupils were supported in their work by topic experts from FH Aachen and school mentors from politics and society for the entire duration of the project. On-site appointments with the topic experts at the FH Aachen, visits by the school mentors and support from SMEs from the region rounded off the programme.
