I.4 | Personnel development / company organisation
The subject area is dedicated to the topics of personnel development and company organisation. Topics relating to digitalisation and New Work are also anchored here.
Personnel development supports managers and employees in all further development measures. This includes professional, personal and social skills that are required for current and future tasks.
The business organisation area includes the maintenance and development of the download centre. Forms, information sheets, FH communications and other documents in the corporate design are created here.
Digitalisation and changing values within society and between generations are changing the needs and requirements of employees. New Work describes this change in organisations. Subject area I.4 covers various topics in the New Work spectrum - from the digitalisation of documents and workflows in the DMS to the flexibilisation of work location and time through mobile working.
Personnel development
Personnel development at FH Aachen begins with onboarding immediately after the contract is signed and accompanies employees throughout their time at FH Aachen. The guide for new employees provides all new employees with an overview of the structure and the most important facilities at FH Aachen.
We support the day-to-day work of all employees with various opportunities for further development. We are constantly updating our internal training programme and are always happy to receive requests and suggestions. We are also the interface to the Inter-University Continuing Education Programme (HÜF). But we are also your point of contact if you would like to take further training with an external provider. If you would like to complete a work shadowing programme at one of the five other universities in the HAWtech HochschulAllianz, we will be happy to put you in touch with the university of your choice. You can find more information on this topic in the download area and on the website of the University Alliance for Applied Sciences (HAWtech).
Possible topics for further training can be discussed, for example, in your annual appraisal interview with your manager. We are also responsible for updating the forms and providing support for the annual appraisal.
In addition to our employee and management development programmes, we also provide advice on recruitment and selection, team development and employee qualification. Managers at subject area and team management level in administration and administration-related institutions, at departmental management level and at deanery level are invited to take part in a programme specially developed for their management level.
All documents and forms can be found in the download area.
Company integration management - BEM
FH Aachen has been offering health prevention programmes for many years, such as participation in university sports, back and smoking-free courses and the break express.
With its company integration management programme, FH Aachen offers a further building block to support employees who have fallen ill, restore their ability to work and help them return to work.
What is company integration management?
The procedure for company integration management is regulated in the German Social Code (§107, Para. 2, SGB IX) and takes place according to set rules. In addition to the legal regulations, FH Aachen is also personally committed to supporting employees in their recovery. A BEM procedure is therefore offered to all employees who have been ill for longer than 6 weeks and an invitation to a voluntary discussion is issued.
It is very important to us to work together in a spirit of trust, in which you can benefit from the support of Staff Councils, health insurance companies and other experts. We would like to work with you to develop measures that will reduce the number of absences in the future in the long term.
If you wish to have a confidential dialogue, you can also request the BEM yourself at any time.
What options does the BEM offer?
By using needs-based measures, we work together to achieve the goal of overcoming your inability to work. Possible options include gradual reintegration, medical rehabilitation, training measures or changes to your technical or organisational area of activity.
Who is responsible at FH Aachen?
You can contact the integration team on the subject of BEM. It consists of two representatives of the employer, two representatives of the Staff Council and one member of the representative body for severely disabled employees. All members are bound to confidentiality.
Who takes part in the meetings?
You can decide for yourself which people should take part in the BEM meeting. The only stipulation is that FH Aachen as the employer is present. You can, for example, also bring colleagues or external persons, such as relatives or the doctor treating you, to the meeting.

We also produce the final version of FH Aachen's central publications such as the FH-Mitteilungen. We are also responsible for the organisation of the rules of procedure and the distribution of responsibilities.
