Apprenticeship Day 2016

On 27 October 2016, a "Teaching Day" took place at FH Aachen for the first time. Many may have asked themselves in advance: "A day of teaching - what's the point? Good teaching takes place every day at the FH! The answer is simple: things that seem everyday and self-evident need special attention. The event "Teaching Impulses" was therefore intended to focus more on the topic of "good teaching" at the FH.

Different perspectives were wanted. In this sense, we wanted the participation of students, teachers, but also of all those who are not directly involved in teaching, but who feel committed to supporting good teaching and good learning.

With the main topic "Teaching in the digital transformation", the day dealt with another seemingly self-evident fact: the constant, easy availability of information through digital media leads to the assumption that the competence to utilise this information in a problem-solving way is also available. Of course, digital media offer the opportunity to promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills. It is important to use this opportunity.

The event wanted to stimulate discourse on this topic and offer students and teachers a forum for exchange. The discussion round and talks in the context of the accompanying poster exhibition provided an opportunity for this.
