If you cannot book an online appointment at short notice, send the following documents by post to the Foreigners' Office (all copies - no original documents)
- Application for an extension of your residence permit (for gainful employment)
- Proof that you have completed your studies or a temporary certificate from your examination office

Residence Permit for a Master's or Ph.D.
Master
If you plan to continue in a master's program after your bachelor's, you need to get a new residence permit for the new degree program. You must complete your entire studies, including a language course, foundation year (Studienkolleg), and bachelor's and master's programs within 10 years.
If you do not have admission to a master's program when you finish your bachelor's degree, you will probably receive a "fiction certificate" (Fiktionsbescheinigung) for 3-6 months for the transition period.
