Cross-Registered Students

Registered students from other universities who are not on a leave of absence can apply for cross-registration at FH Aachen to attend courses and lectures and take examinations concurrently with their studies.

For the time of cross-registration, you are not registered at FH Aachen, but only admitted.

Possible Cross-Registrations

Minor Cross-Registration (Kleine Zweithörerschaft)

You can apply for minor cross-registration (kleine Zweithörerschaft), which entitles you to attend courses and take examinations running concurrently with your studies. However, it is not possible to obtain a degree in the chosen degree programme.

A fee of 100€ per semester is charged for the minor cross-registration.

Major Cross-Registration (Große Zweithörerschaft)

If you can provide proof of fulfilling the requirements of a degree programme for registration, admission to major cross-registration is possible, but will only be granted if there are free capacities. In this case, final examinations may also be taken.

No fees are charged for major cross-registration.

Go to the Application Process

The following applies to both types of cross-registration:

The faculty of FH Aachen responsible for the chosen degree programme must agree to the admission in cross-registration. Attendance of courses may be restricted, approval and classification may be prohibited.

Priority is always given to registered students who are required to attend courses in order to complete their studies in accordance with the regulations.

In degree programmes with admission restrictions, admission as a cross-registered student is excluded.
