What do you need to bring with you?

Admission requirements for admission to the degree programme are proof of a first professionally qualifying degree in the field of civil engineering lasting at least seven semesters and amounting to 210 credit points. The certificate must show an overall grade of at least "good" (2.5). Unless you have completed your Bachelor's degree within the prescribed period of study, in which case we will also accept an overall grade of up to 3.0.
Interested students with a corresponding degree with 180 credit points have the opportunity to make up the required 30 credits during a practical semester. Alternatively, you can register for the Bachelor's degree programme in Civil Engineering and complete adaptation modules worth 30 credit points.

Competencies in the following subject areas are required for admission to the Master's degree programme:

  • Mathematics and Engineering Mechanics as well as two of the following three subject areas:
    • Statics
    • Construction management
    • Infrastructure (transport and/or water and waste management)
  • A sufficient command of the German language is also required.

In exceptional cases, registration is possible without the aforementioned proof of the first professionally qualifying degree if only the final thesis and/or the colloquium remain to be completed. In this case, a declaration from the applicant is required. The final proof of the first professionally qualifying university degree, including the required overall grade, must be submitted to the Registrar's Office by 15 April for registration for the summer semester and by 15 October for registration for the winter semester.
