Programme content
The first three semesters of the Bachelor's degree programme in Electrical Engineering are the same for all engineering students. Knowledge of maths, physics, electronics, electrical engineering and computer science is taught in lectures, associated exercises and practical trainings. Systemic methods for solving electrical engineering problems are emphasised in all subject areas - as a foundation for lifelong learning. Social skills such as teamwork, foreign languages, presentation techniques and communication skills also play an important role.

Specialisation programme (4th to 6th semester) PO 2018
In the fourth and fifth semesters, the study schedule provides for a total of nine elective modules and an interdisciplinary project. The elective modules can be selected from the compulsory elective catalogue; alternatively, up to four modules can be selected from the elective catalogues of the fourth and fifth semesters of the Bachelor's degree programmes "Computer Science" and "Media and Communications for Digital Business".

Focal points
The individual elective modules can be assigned to specialisations if desired. If the student has completed at least four elective modules from a specialisation, the successful completion of this specialisation can be noted on the degree certificate with a corresponding addition upon request. The choice of specialisation is optional.

Practical or semester abroad
Students can choose
The degree programme is offered as a six-semester Bachelor's degree programme without a practical semester or as a seven-semester Bachelor's degree programme with an integrated practical semester. Our students have the option of switching to the programme variant that suits them best until they have completed their first five semesters. If you opt for the six-semester Bachelor's degree programme, you will complete your studies in the following semester with the practical project and Bachelor's thesis. The seven-semester Bachelor's degree programme offers a further practice-oriented specialisation with the integrated practical semester and at the same time the opportunity to enter the Master's degree programme in Electrical Engineering.
