Study programme variants

The programme in detail: The six-semester study programme at FH Aachen, which accompanies your training, begins in your second year of training at the School of Physiotherapy at Aachen University Hospital. This means that you will study in parallel in the second and third year of your training. After a total of four years, you will have acquired two degrees.

After the third year of specialised studies, you will receive your state examination. After completing your degree, you will have one more year ahead of you: the fifth and sixth semesters of the Bachelor's degree programme.

In the sixth semester of the Bachelor's degree programme, you will complete your studies as you started them: practically. You will write your Bachelor's thesis on a scientifically orientated practical training course and present your results in a colloquium.

If you have already completed a physiotherapy qualification, you can also complete the physiotherapy degree programme on an extra-occupational basis. This will open up new career prospects for you - for example, management positions in physiotherapy, a job change abroad or a career in research.

About the programme: The extra-occupational degree programme in physiotherapy comprises six semesters, the first four of which you complete alongside your job. This is followed by one year of full-time study and finally the Bachelor's degree.
