Extra-occupational Master's degree

If you are a graduate of a university of applied sciences in a field that is part of the

electrical engineering, power engineering, communications engineering, mechanical engineering, production engineering, automotive engineering, design engineering, process engineering, supply engineering, chemical engineering, automation engineering or information technology you can complete an extra-occupational Master's degree programme for teaching at vocational colleges via lateral entry if you have a confirmation of employment from a vocational college. In addition to teaching for 13 hours on three days per week, the studies are carried out at the university on two days per week. The Master's degree programme is to be completed within six semesters and concludes with the Master of Education.

After completion of the extra-occupational Master's degree programme, the extra-occupational preparatory service according to OBAS takes place, lasting 18 months.
