Semester Ticket

The "Deutschland Semesterticket" has been available since the summer semester 2024.

The semester ticket is issued by ASEAG as an eTicket in the form of a chip card. The semester ticket is valid from the start of the semester. For subsequent semesters, the entitlement to travel with the semester ticket remains valid upon regular re-registration, i.e. the extension is automatically applied to the existing eTicket.

Were you already enrolled before the summer semester 2024 and have a chip card with a semester ticket? Then you need to update your card as soon as possible. You can find the instructions for the update on this website.

Important information for all students whose eTicket chip card has an expiration date of 06/24:

The eTicket chip cards are valid for a maximum of five years and are replaced regularly. 

The new eTicket chip cards will be sent by post by ASEAG in mid-June.

Please check whether your current address is entered in the FH Aachen portal. Any changes of address can only be taken into account until May 29, 2024. If you have entered an address abroad (outside the Tri-border region), the semester tickets are available for issue at the ASEAG customer center

Please note that the old eTicket chip card must be used up to and including June 30, 2024 and that the new ticket will only be active and valid from July 1, 2024. 

If you do not receive your new ticket on time, it may have been returned to ASEAG by post. In this case, you can collect the ticket from the ASEAG customer center.

What happens if I lose my ticket or it is damaged?

If your semester ticket is lost or stolen, please report the loss immediately to the ASEAG Customer Centre. It can be blocked at short notice and you will receive a replacement ticket immediately for a fee of 15 euros. If your ticket is wilfully damaged, a processing fee of 15 euros will also be charged for the second issue. If the ticket is defective, it will be replaced free of charge. If a 2nd replacement issue is necessary within a contract year due to loss/theft, a 15 euro loss fee + 10 euro handling fee will be charged.
