Professorinnenprogramm III

The federal and state programme for female professors has been running since 2008. It aims to increase the number of female professors and establish or expand gender equality structures through various measures. Under the programme, higher education institutions can apply for start-up funding of up to three positions for professorships filled by women for a period of five years.

In the current, third round, the FH Aachen successfully applied to participate in the programme for female professors. For the first time, it has obtained funding for a professorship for a period of five years and is financing initiatives for newly appointed female professors, young female scientists and female students in the MINT subjects from the funds that become available.

During the term of the programme - until February 2024 - the following gender equality measures, among others, are to be implemented:

• Support services for newly appointed female professors
• Career support for young female academics
• Equipment for additional childcare services at the FH Aachen
• Offers for schoolgirls and female students in the MINT sector
