Working with Impairments

Around five per cent of employees at FH Aachen are severely disabled or have an equal status. In order to represent their interests in the best possible way, there is a representative body for severely disabled employees. It facilitates the integration of severely disabled people into the respective department and, in so doing, also represents their interests. Integration assistance is used to adapt workplace organisation to the individual needs of employees with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

As a university, we want to enable our employees to participate on an equal footing and without discrimination.  Possible barriers are constantly identified and removed and, if this is not possible, appropriate individual compensation is actively sought.

The aim is to offer all employees a working environment in which they are supported on an equity of opportunity basis. To ensure this, we offer easily accessible information and counselling services through our representative body for severely disabled employees. We also offer our employees workplace health management and support the further development of representative bodies.
