Study Contents

A lot! In the first four semesters, we provide you with practice-oriented basic knowledge in all important areas. In addition to building history and urban planning, you will learn about technical topics such as structural engineering, building technology and building physics. You will design and construct your first buildings and hone your design and visualisation skills. You will also familiarise yourself with the basics of construction management and building law. You will work in teams with other students on practical projects and go on excursions to visit interesting cities and buildings. At the same time, you will acquire important tools for your future career: You will draw with CAAD programmes, build models, learn to organise yourself, to work creatively, analytically and systematically.

In the fifth semester, you can specialise your studies according to your interests. You can choose from a wide range of subjects in the areas of design, construction/technology/environment and society/economics. This will allow you to adapt your studies to your interests before you complete your degree in the sixth semester by comprehensively designing and planning a building based on a real task.
