Betriebswirtschaft / Business Studies B.Sc.
What is a minimum wage? Why do many companies relocate production abroad? How does the price of petrol come about? How does the principle of discounters work? How do I set up a company? These are typical everyday questions that business administration, or BWL for short, deals with. Business studies is and remains the most popular subject in Germany and is also one of the most diverse degree programmes. Generally speaking, business studies examines how a company is managed, controlled and organised and how the various sections interact. The focus is always on how success and turnover can be increased. But business economists also look beyond the individual company. They observe the market and trends, for example people's buying behaviour, and keep an eye on the competition and the state, which sets the legal framework.
The special thing about the degree programme in Betriebswirtschaft/Business Studies at the FH Aachen is that you are taught a broad knowledge of business studies. Through the individual choice of specialisations, you have the opportunity to specialise according to your interests and inclinations in the further study progress.
Degree Programme Variants
Would you like to gain practical experience during your studies, spend some time studying abroad or deal with a research topic? A practical semester, semester abroad or project semester gives you the opportunity to do so. The special feature is that the acquisition of practical, foreign or research experience is integrated into the sequence of studies as a so-called "mobility semester". You also have the option of studying Business Studies part-time. We have provided further information in the section on degree programme variants.
