Change of Degree Programme and University

If the answer is positive, you will receive a letter of admission from the Registrar's Office, which contains information about the registration time frame as well as a list of documents that you still need to bring with you. As a rule, these are

1. the letter of admission,
2. valid identity card, passport or confirmation of residence/Meldebestätigung (a copy in case of written registration)
3. a receipted deposit slip or bank statement showing the social contribution/student activity fee paid in,
4. current proof of student health insurance,
5. deregistration certificate,
6. clearance certificate for transfer students from universities of applied sciences in the same degree programme,
7. classification certificate from the faculty examination office.

As a university transfer student for Bachelor's degree programmes with a foreign university entrance qualification, you must first have the "uni-assist" institution pre-check whether your foreign certificates meet the requirements of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany (Zentralstelle für ausländisches Bildungswesen (ZaB)) and are generally sufficient for admission to a university in Germany.
