System Accreditation

While the programme accreditation to be issued by the Accreditation Council according to the current legal situation is essentially intended to ensure compliance with formal and subject-specific minimum standards (resolutions of the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Länder in the Federal Republic of Germany, standards and guidelines for quality assurance in the European Higher Education Area, ESG for short, etc.), an assessment procedure carried out internally offers university and subject-specific design options. However, in order to be able to use these, the underlying procedure must be accredited as part of a system of quality assurance in study and teaching ("system accreditation").

The FH Aachen claims a high level of quality for its degree programmes and therefore consistently sets its own standards and quality goals, which - building on our mission statement for studying and teaching - are pursued in department-specific approaches. In our opinion, sustainable development of quality in study and teaching is only possible with a broadly supported, self-developed quality management system in study and teaching that is therefore tailored to the needs of the university.

With effect from 1.10.2021 and valid until 30.09.2029, the quality management system in teaching and learning at FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences has been system-accredited.
