Division II – Student and Academic Affairs
The Division for Student and Academic Affairs is essentially responsible for two areas of work: Academic Affairs mainly comprises tasks relating to the university's internal self-administration. This includes supporting the committees, in particular the Senate, the University Council and the faculties, statute and regulatory law, capacity and admissions law, administration of the range of studies offered at FH Aachen and monitoring accreditation procedures.
All centralised services for students and applications are assigned to the Student Affairs department. The Student Service Centre (SSC) is the first point of contact for all questions relating to studies. This is where initial information is provided, incoming enquiries are coordinated and, depending on their nature and topics such as choice of study programme, application and registration, re-registration, leave of absence, student life, studying abroad or starting a career, are passed on to the Service Points Student Advisory Service, Registrar's Office, Department of International Affairs, Career Service and Psychosocial Counselling.
