II.4 | Department of International Affairs
The Department of International Affairs is the central point of contact for all international matters at FH Aachen and offers support and advice for students and academics from Germany and abroad.
Its activities include the promotion of international cooperation and intercultural exchange, the maintenance of partnerships with foreign institutions as well as the expansion of the university's international network.
In addition, the Department of International Affairs is responsible for providing guidance to international students and academics on issues relating to visa and residence matters, organising exchange programmes with foreign universities, including scholarship placement and financial support.

Policy Matter Internationalisation, Erasmus Without Paper, Marketing Abroad

Support for Exchange Students and Freemovers
- Communication between the partner universities, faculties and students
- Coordination of the application process from the nomination of students to sending admission letters and support with registration
- Assistance in drawing up the Learning Agreements
- Support with administrative matters such as insurance with a German health insurance company, foreign matters, FH Karte, German language courses, etc.
- Organisation and commissioning of German language courses
- Organisation and implementation of all Incoming events
- Issuing language certificates
- Preparation of study progress certificates
Support for International Students
- Consultation and provision of contacts
- Consultation and support on questions regarding study financing, examination grants and graduation grants
- Counselling in difficult life situations
- Issuing special English-language certificates, e.g. for the extension of government scholarships or for the exemption of military service in the home country
- Issuing of study progress certificates for the extension of residence permits
- Consultation on students' right of residence - also in the event of a change of degree programme or university transfer or in the event of examinations that have been definitely not passed

Funding Opportunities Erasmus+ and PROMOS
Erasmus+
FH Aachen participates in the Erasmus+ programme and encourages all university members to engage in lifelong learning across national borders. The Erasmus+ programme is coordinated by the Erasmus+ University Coordinator as the contact person vis-à-vis the NA DAAD.
In the context of the Erasmus+ stay abroad, students, graduates and employees are provided with comprehensive counselling and support throughout the entire process.ses intensiv beraten und betreut.
