Is your end device suitable for using the DUO Mobile app?
Please check whether the end device you are using is suitable for using the DUO Mobile App:
The current version (as of 03/03/2023) of Duo Mobile supports iOS 14.0 or higher and Android 10 or higher. You can find the latest information on this on the manufacturer's website: https://guide.duo.com/#supported-devices
In exceptional cases, students who do not own a smartphone or have an operating system that does not meet the specified requirements can apply for the issue of a hardware token. Please use the following link: https://jira.fh-aachen.de/servicedesk/customer/portal/4/create/455
How to register a device in DUO:
ATTENTION! Please do not abort the process once you have started it. This may lock you out of your account.
- Please open the link: https://fh-aachen.login.duosecurity.com/devices
- Click „Gerät hinzufügen":
- Decide on the recommended option „Duo Mobile":

ATTENTION!!! On your device you may be offered Touch ID / Face ID at this point. If you choose this option, you will initially only be able to log in with this device. We therefore strongly recommend setting up the Duo Mobile app on your device first, as you can also use it to confirm logins on other devices, e.g. in PC rooms.
- Opt for „Ich habe ein Tablet":
- If you have not yet installed the app, follow the instructions and install the "DUO Mobile" app on your private or business cell phone. After successful installation click on „Nächster":
- Scan the QR code that is then displayed with "DUO Mobile":
Congratulations!
From now on you can use the 2-factor authentication of the FH Aachen.
Function test
To test the function, log on to https://services.fh-aachen.de, for example. Currently, not all FH services are protected by 2FA. The function will be further expanded service by service in the coming months.
