After completing my Bachelor's degree at the Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, I decided to pursue a Master's degree in Biotechnology at FH Aachen.
During my Bachelor's degree programme, I found the many practical trainings, manageable course sizes and close contact with the teaching staff very convincing, which made it very easy for me to choose to continue my studies at a university of applied sciences.
FH Aachen was particularly convincing because of the more varied range of exams. In addition to classic written examinations, examinations were also offered in the form of lectures, assignments (e.g. writing a review) and project planning. This way, it was not only the contents of the respective courses that were tested, but you could also develop soft skills that are important for your future profession.
In addition, FH Aachen also scored points for its proximity to industry. In lecture series in the field of medical and industrial biotechnology, various research institutions and companies regularly present their research areas. Through these lecture units, you can make contact with companies right from the start and in some cases already secure places for a practical semester and/or the Master's thesis.
In summary, I can recommend studying at FH Aachen to everyone. Here, everyone can find and develop their own strengths in a friendly atmosphere. Personally, I liked it so much that I added three more years after my Master's degree and am currently doing a doctorate here.
